The President of the United States has claimed, on more than one occasion, to be in dialogue with God. Now, if he said that he was talking to God through his hairdryer, this would precipitate a national emergency. I fail to see how the addition of a hairdryer makes the claim more ludicrous or more offensive.

Of course Mr. Harris fails to see this. One would need a personal relationship with God to realize that no intermediary is necessary. Not a priest, not the pope, and certainly not a hairdryer.
That said, I think the President’s actions call into question exactly who he is talking with. After all, if God exists so do other, less friendly beings, who would probably like to get into his ear.
Then why did he use a burning bush to talk to Moses?
