Those who know the Bible and that's all they know, don't know the Bible.
Example; 70x7 in Genesis means to kill 70 for one abused.
Example: 70x7 in the Gospels means to forgive over and over.
Example: Abram and Sarai in Genesis 12 and Abraham and Sarah in Gen 22 is the same story as Isaac and Rebekkah in Gen. 26. There is a logical explanation for it one learns in college, but not in Sunday School.
David killed Goliath, but so did Elhanon in 2nd Samuel 21:19 only King James instructed the scribes to insert in italics "the son of" so they would not be two killers of Goliath the Hittite, whose shew was like a weaver's beam."
Do you know several of these double narratives which definitely are in the Bible and also the logical explanation for their being there?
The answer is "migration and so intermingling of oral traditional stories among peoples in Judah and Ephraim and Egypt, etc. Each group put their own hero names to the stories. Ephraim used names that started with El because their name for God was Elohim. Judah used Je and/or ended with ah because th name for God for them was YHWH or Yahweh, from which Jehovah was derived. The Y is a J. The W is a v.
And there is much more to this.
The remarkable part of this is that none of it was to be dishonest!
Also, the rule that not one iota of the Bible could be changed without causing death was challenged by Jesus who said: The scriptures say..., but I say. Right then he changed what they considered "The Word of God." And He was killed for it.

So there is more to the Bible than memorizing verses out of context and taking these little tests. Memorizing was necessary years ago when printed text was not so available, page numbers in the Bible never happened. Not so today.

And the RSV Concordance, first book done by the first IBM computer, gives you instant accessibility to any word in the Bible and takes you to every passage in which that word occurs. That Concordance is in every library in the country, now in two volumes.

So what does memory work do nowadays? Well, it is like paint on a wall; It doesn't do the wall any good, but it does add color.

I got 45 out of 50! As a fairly recent out-of-the-closet atheist, I thought it only fitting that I give the bible a careful reading so I could refute the endless lies that come out of the mouths of the fundidiots.

I got a 38.

You have to admit, though, even from a sceptical standpoint, some of those questions were not very accurate. For example,
What is the origin of the "mighty men" giants known as nephilim?

They were the offspring of God's angels and young women.
They were the result of an earlier, botched creation.
They were monsters from the evil nation of Nephi.
They were part of the "blessing of Abraham" that ensured military victory to God's chosen people.
While #1 is a popular theory, "angels" are never mentioned in the text.
