I'm surprised at how many adults seem to have no understanding of the natural consequences of their actions. I'm hoping that by allowing my children to make some "mistakes" and deal with them when the stakes are low, they'll have more experience and wisdom when it really matters. In the long run that's what they need - to learn how to handle these situations by themselves.
